DESCRIPTION

-Adds a 'tag' reference in `.git/refs/tags/`. The tag <name> must pass
-linkgit:git-check-ref-format[1] which basicly means that control characters,
-space, ~, ^, :, ?, *, [ and \ are prohibited.
