1git-peek-remote(1) 2================== 3 4NAME 5---- 6git-peek-remote - Lists the references in a remote repository. 7 8 9SYNOPSIS 10-------- 11'git-peek-remote' [--exec=<git-upload-pack>] [<host>:]<directory> 12 13DESCRIPTION 14----------- 15Lists the references the remote repository has, and optionally 16stores them in the local repository under the same name. 17 18OPTIONS 19------- 20--exec=<git-upload-pack>:: 21 Use this to specify the path to 'git-upload-pack' on the 22 remote side, if it is not found on your $PATH. Some 23 installations of sshd ignores the user's environment 24 setup scripts for login shells (e.g. .bash_profile) and 25 your privately installed git may not be found on the system 26 default $PATH. Another workaround suggested is to set 27 up your $PATH in ".bashrc", but this flag is for people 28 who do not want to pay the overhead for non-interactive 29 shells, but prefer having a lean .bashrc file (they set most of 30 the things up in .bash_profile). 31 32<host>:: 33 A remote host that houses the repository. When this 34 part is specified, 'git-upload-pack' is invoked via 35 ssh. 36 37<directory>:: 38 The repository to sync from. 39 40 41Author 42------ 43Written by Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net> 44 45Documentation 46-------------- 47Documentation by Junio C Hamano. 48 49GIT 50--- 51Part of the gitlink:git[7] suite 52
