Code cleanups.

* rs/simple-cleanups:
sha1_name: use strlcpy() to copy strings
pretty: use starts_with() to check for a prefix
for-each-ref: use skip_prefix() to avoid duplicate string comparison
connect: use strcmp() for string comparison
